As millions of students around the world rallied to protest
policies that increase greenhouse gases or do nothing to decrease them, physics and biology students at Seattle World School took
steps to assess our school’s waste management and find opportunities for more
sustainable practices. With the guidance of Ms. Kelsey, students sorted 71 lbs.
of trash from two days, and diverted almost 50 lbs. of waste that would have
gone to the landfill!
Ms. Kelsey’s advisory students will facilitate conversations
and lessons on waste reduction for all our students, so that we can continue to
reduce our environmental impact as a school community.
