We offer our students a broad range of opportunities to extend and deepen their learning beyond the standard school day through a variety of classes sponsored by our community partners and volunteers.

Extended Day Classes and Activities
Guitar Class
Learn to play guitar, create songs, and record your own music!

Origami Class
Learn how to fold paper cranes, work on a 1000 paper cranes project, and learn how to make amazing 3-D art with paper! Use your skills to decorate the school! Also, read books such as Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes to improve your English!

Homework Help
Work one-on-one with an adult tutor. You will practice English, learn organization/study skills, get help with homework, and improve your grades. Go see Ms. Emily in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
English Conversation Class
Improve your English speaking and listening skills with your peers. For more information, talk to Ms. Anna-Ruby!

Job Readiness Training
This is a year-long class taught in your native language – Chinese, Spanish, or Vietnamese. You will learn how to apply to jobs, practice job interviews, prepare for college, and go on fun field trips! You will also receive a stipend ($$$) for this class! There are three different classes:
- Chinese: taught by Asian Counseling & Referral Services
- Spanish: taught by El Centro de la Raza
- Vietnamese: taught by the Vietnamese Friendship Association (talk to Co Thu or Co Hang for more information)

Cooking
Walk down the hill to Coyote Central! Work with chefs to learn and practice your cooking skills. With good attendance, you can earn a $100 stipend at the end!

Photography
Walk down the hill to Coyote Central! Learn how to use a professional camera, take high-quality pictures, and edit those pictures. Go on field trips around Seattle to take pictures! With good attendance, you can earn a $100 stipend at the end!

Woodworking
Learn how to design and create your own wooden furniture to take home! With good attendance, you can earn a $100 stipend at the end!

Bike Repair
Walk down the hill to Coyote Central and learn how to build and repair a bike from scratch! At the end of the class, you get to take the bike home! Hurry, only 8 students can take this class!

Band
Are you interested in learning how to sing or play piano, guitar, drums, bass or other instruments? Do you want to be in a band and create music with other students? Come to the music room after school on Wednesdays and talk to Mr. Bill!

Run for Change
Get fun exercise and compete in races against runners of all different skill levels! Get a mentor that you run together with every week!

Yoga
Stretch and relax to improve your physical and mental health in a yoga class taught by Ms. Leberer. Both students and staff are invited to the yoga class – everybody needs to de-stress after a long week at school!
Dance/Cheer Team
Learn fun dances and cool stunts and perform in front of the school! Help improve school pride and pep, making school more fun for everyone! Boys and girls are welcome!
Saturday English School
Project RISE's Saturday English School supports students with homework, additional math/reading/writing activities and English comprehension with one on one volunteers. Saturday English School also promotes leadership development, career exploration, and service learning through field trips and guest speakers.
Project Rise also provides family support classes such as English, technology, and healthy parenting classes through partnerships with other CBO's.
Lunch and metro bus tickets are provided for all participants.
Robotics Team
Improve your math, science, technology, and English skills by building cool robots! Enter your robot into competitions and win awards! For more information, talk to Ms. Wu!

Computer Coding
You will learn basic coding and work your way up to create games on computers! This class is taught by people who work at Amazon. Only high schoolers can sign up for this class.
