Is Seattle World School right for my child?

Seattle World School offers a strength-based sheltered instructional model for immigrant students. We offer the same graduation credit as other high schools, but we also integrate simultaneous English instruction for any language level in all of our classes.

Would you like your student to be more prepared academically and linguistically to attend college and/or choose a career?

We have College and Career Pathways options that prepare students for post-secondary success.

Would you like all your student’s teachers, not just some, to be highly qualified in teaching English and content at the same time?

Virtually all our teachers are certified, or working towards, English Language Leader certification in addition to their content areas such as Social Studies or Science.

No students are tracked into “lower level” classes. Instead, our teachers are trained in inclusive, research based practices that increase language acquisition. 

Would you like your student to get individualized support for learning through school-day intervention, tutoring and more?

All students have 1:4 support to apply to college, and 100% of our seniors who pursued a college education received a scholarship to pay for the first 2 years of college. 

Would you like your student to be at a small school? Our school is between 200-300 students, while comprehensive high schools are often over 1500 students.

We personalize learning for your student to help them articulate and achieve their goals after high school, preparing them for successful lives.

We believe that parents and guardians should help guide their child’s future. As a small school, we work with families to support the personalized learning experience your student deserves. 

How to enroll

Seattle World School is a continuously enrolling school. This means that we accept students at all parts of the year, even if they have started school somewhere else.

Enrollment help is available at the enrollment center in English, Spanish, Chinese, Amharic, Somali or Vietnamese.
